Apple Prepares a Major Siri Upgrade

Apple is testing Google’s Gemini as part of its upcoming Siri upgrade, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports. The update, which introduces AI-powered search, won’t arrive until 2026 due to delays as Apple evaluates its AI readiness.
Bloomberg says Apple and Google finalized a deal to trial Gemini in Siri, with potential expansion to Safari and Spotlight if successful.
Spotlight previously allowed iPhone users to skip Google searches for quick answers. But in the age of AI chatbots, Apple faces pressure to enhance its own ecosystem.
The revamped Siri will include multimedia content, local data, and AI-powered summarization. It will also incorporate personal information to deliver customized results and allow broader voice navigation.
